The municipality of Orsa is best described as the place in Sweden where the rural south meets the wilderness of the north. A dramatic collision in nature which has given birth to a very diverse landscape and with a great variety of species. You might want to say we got the best of both worlds.

This variation is highly valuated by the local anglers simply because you can practise a wide variety of  techniques and forms within fishing. Everything from modern international specimen techniques after the common beam, to flyfishing after trouts in desert lakes, far off in the wild. You can go hunting for pike or perch from ice in the winter, and you can wade around in one of many streams in search for graylings in the summer. Almost everything is possible.

We are proud of our well maintained, and natural waters. Many of them holds natural populations of trout and grayling.

If you need help in your choice of fishing, the species of fish or if you have specific desires (teambuilding, companies, courses, lectures etc), please contact the local entrepreneurs. They will help you design a guided tour through our nature and the fishing waters,  following your wishes.

We have a well rooted culture in fishing in the region. The local angling competition teams have won many Swedish and Nordic championships throughout the years, both individually and as a team. Both in ice fishing and modern international angling. No wonder why.
